After stocks gave up some of their gains on Friday, even after a stellar jobs report, it appeared that market participants were wary about the tariff and trade war situations. So much for trade war worries. Stocks spiked in early trading and added to their gains as the trading session wore on.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 320 points to finish the day at 24,776. The S&P 500 was up 24 points to close at 2,784. Gold was up $3 to trade at $1,259 per ounce, while oil was up $.28 to trade at $74.08 per barrel WTI.

The banks will kick off earnings season later in the week. It should be a strong earnings season, but whether that is getting priced in with sessions like today remains to be seen. On the economic front, we will get a look at inflation with the PPI and CPI numbers later in the week. Buckle up, it should be an interesting week of trading.

Have a nice evening everyone.
