Stocks were celebrating along with the President during the China Trade Deal signing ceremony, but as the afternoon wore on, buyers seemed to run out of gas. More than a sell the news event, it appeared that the buyers had already used up most of their energy, and it was simply time to take a rest. Stocks still ended higher, but off the highs of the day.
For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 90 points to close at 29,030. The S&P 500 was up 6 points to finish the day at 3,289. Gold was up $12 to trade at $1,556 per ounce, while oil was down $.17 to trade at $58.06 per barrel WTI.
