Friends

Neither the bulls nor the bears seemed to be able to muster much of an advance today as stocks mostly waffled back and forth around the break-even mark for the entire trading session. It has been quite a couple of weeks of trading, so a little breather may have been in order.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 4 points to finish the day at 17,732. The S&P 500 was down 2 points to close at 2081. Gold was up $12 to trade at $1081 per ounce, while oil was down $.31 to trade at $40.44 per barrel WTI.

It has been an emotionally charged political environment, due of course, to the terrorist attacks and the refugee situation, but the economy and the markets continue to move ahead and the feeling that the Fed is poised for liftoff in December is permeating the market place. Let’s see how the week finishes out tomorrow.

Have a nice evening everyone.
