A Very Quiet Drift

Friends

Stocks drifted aimlessly throughout the trading session today despite another decent earnings report from a financial institution (Citi in this case), a surprisingly bullish report from Netflix, and a few successful IPO’s including ETSY and Party City. Traders just couldn’t seem to stir any interest in the market in general.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 6 points to finish the day at 18,105. The S&P 500 was down 1 point to close at 2104. Gold was down $2 to trade at $1198 per ounce, while oil was up a fraction to trade at $56.52 per barrel WTI.

So far the week is leaning slightly in favor of the bulls, but let’s see if they can continue to hold the high ground as we finish the week tomorrow. Let’s see if market participants choose to get involved tomorrow.

Have a nice evening everyone.
