End To A Quiet Week

Today’s retail sales number, ex-autos, was actually pretty good- and better than expected. Regardless, stocks simply had another very quiet day with just a little bit of volatility.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 17 points to finish the day at 26,089. The S&P 500 was down 4 points to close at 2,886. Gold was up $1 to trade at $1,334 per ounce, while oil was up $.26 to trade at $52.54 per barrel WTI.

After last week’s fireworks for the bulls, this week was like pulling into a rest stop with the kids in the back seat of the station wagon. Ok, I’m not exactly sure what that means but we’ll see how many of you are paying attention.

Have a great weekend everyone.
