The bulls seem a little nervous before the release of Nvidia’s earnings after the close today. Stocks had trouble gaining any support throughout the trading session as Fed officials continue to imply that rate cuts may not be happening anytime soon despite what market participants are pricing in.

For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 201 points to close at 39,671. The S&P 500 was down 14 points to finish the day at 5,307. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 31 points to close at 16,801. Gold was down $44 to trade at $2,381 per ounce, while oil was down $1.31 to trade at $77.35 per barrel WTI.

All eyes will be on those Nvidia earnings after the close. How those shares react will likely set the tone for the rest of the trading week. We’ll let you know how the rest of the week plays out. Stay tuned.

Have a nice evening everyone.
