The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 288 points to close at 11,140. Gold was up $5 to trade at $1,929 per ounce, while oil was up $1.07 to trade at $81.40 per barrel WTI.

On the earnings calendar next week are reports from 3M, GE, Travelers, Microsoft, Halliburton, Lockheed Martin, Union Pacific, Verizon, J&J, Abbott Labs, AT&T, Boeing, Kimberly Clark, Dow, Intel, American Express, Chevron, and Intel just to name a few.
