It was another good day for the market averages, though not every sector participated in the advance. Today’s winners were the big tech names and basically growth in general. The recent favorites- banks, industrials and energy all were sources of funds for traders. But, the rotation that we have seen over the past several months continues to draw in new money as liquid investors look for opportunities.

As for today, by the close the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 305 points to finish the day at 34,035. The S&P 500 was up 45 points to close at 4,170. The Nasdaq Composite Index was up 180 points to close at 14,038. Gold was up $28 to trade at $1,764 per ounce, while oil was up $.20 to trade at $63.35 per barrel WTI.

It is impressive that with or without broad participation the market averages keep pushing higher. Let’s see how the week finishes out tomorrow.

Have a nice evening everyone.
