Ok, we did see a little volatility in stocks (a lot of volatility in oil) but for the most part it felt like market participants were off preparing for Thanksgiving instead of participating in today’s trading session. As mentioned, oil had quite a ride from $80 per barrel WTI to about $75 per barrel WTI and then back again, but the rest of the day seemed uneventful.

By the close, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was down 45 points to finish the day at 33,700. The S&P 500 was down 15 points to close at 3,949. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 121 points to close at 11,024. Gold was down $15 to trade at $1,739 per ounce, while the aforementioned oil was down $.34 to trade at $ 79.74 per barrel WTI.

There is never a dull moment on the news front these days, but if today is any indication, we might see a rather quiet holiday week of trading. We will see.

Have a nice evening everyone.
