Another trading session with Apple leading tech names lower didn’t end up doing too much damage to the market overall, but still provided the bears with confidence that they have wounded a major general and hold the high ground for the moment. It is September, after all.

For the day, the Dow Jones Industrial Average was up 57 points to close at 34,500. The S&P 500 was down 14 points to finish the day at 4,451. The Nasdaq Composite Index was down 123 points to close at 13,748. Gold was down $1 to trade at $1,943 per ounce, while oil was down $.63 to trade at $86.91 per barrel WTI.

We felt it might be a somewhat quiet news week and other than China’s somewhat childish tit for tat government restrictions for Apple products, it has been mostly uneventful. We’ll see how the week finishes up tomorrow.

Have a nice evening everyone.
